ManorGate Glass Recycling Network

NOVA Glass Recycling Network for the ManorGate Community has been added. Our community Volunteer/Zone Leader is Dara Rosenthol. Please check the website for the Pick Up Schedule and to Volunteer - they need more for our community!

How to get ready for pick up:

  • [They] are student volunteers, not professionals. [They] will do [their] very best to get all of the glass on the day of pickup. If [they] make a mistake, please don't be mean and let [them] know what [they] missed by commenting on our Facebooks.
  • When it is your week, please place your glass in plastic/paper bags at curbside. Please make it obvious for us to see. Try to not use baskets/containers that you would want back. This will be more of a hassle for the volunteers to drive back around and deliver/give back to the owners.
  • Don't overfill the bags! About 25 pounds or so is reasonable. We don't mind picking up more than one bag, but please don't make them too heavy.
  • Townhouses: put the bags where you would place the trash cans.
  • No broken glass please!
  • Please make sure the bottles are empty!

Neighborhood Watch

ManorGate is part of the national Neighborhood Watch program, which is a division of the National Sheriffs' Association. By participating in this program, ManorGate residents can take assist the authorities in crime prevention thorough neighborhood cohesiveness and collaboration. Visit https://www.nnw.org/ for more information about the National program.

The ManorGate Neighborhood Watch is easy to join. After a training session, you may sign up for one week of the year where you will drive your car around the community each evening, checking out common areas, looking for anything out of the ordinary, and watching for unusual activity, etc. It's an easy way to contribute to your community with little effort.  If you are interested in joining the ManorGate Neighborhood Watch program, email Josh Purdy, the Watch Commander for our neighborhood.

MANORgATE Marlins Swim Team

The ManorGate community is proud to host the ManorGate Marlins swim team. This team is composed of over 150 swimmers from ManorGate and Compton Village, as well as the surrounding communities. The team competes in the Colonial Swimming League.

Meets are held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings during the season. Practices are held at the ManorGate pool each weekday after school from the pool's opening after Memorial Day until FCPS schools let out. Part of the pool is open to the community during these after school practices, with three lanes of the pool used for the swim team.  After that, practices are held in the morning before the pool opens to the community.

Only the Wednesday night meets require an adjustment of pool hours for the community.

2023 ManorGate Marlins Home Swim Meets will be posted here sometime in May of 2023.
